Where it all began!!

It all began with a sack of oysters and Covid-19…
Back in March 2020, when the world suddenly hit pause, Jamey was sent home from his job in the Virgin Islands. The plan was simple (or so we thought): wait things out, then head back to St. Croix once life returned to normal. Spoiler alert — life had other plans 😄.
Around the same time, Jamey asked his parents, Cynthia and Tod, to bring up a sack of fresh oysters for a cookout. They were in the middle of their own big transition — moving from South Mississippi to North Mississippi after being laid off and starting a food trailer called Bon Wraps. With everyone home and nowhere to be, family cookouts became the highlight of the week. Chargrilled oysters, good food, and even better company.
During one of those cookouts, inspiration struck. Jamey and his brother-in-law Stan decided that, just to make ends meet, they’d borrow (okay… hijack 😅) the Bon Wraps trailer and start selling their chargrilled oysters. The idea was temporary — once Covid settled down, Jamey would head back to work, and this little side hustle would be a fun memory.
Well… that plan didn’t last long.
The guys started making quick turnaround trips to the coast for oysters, then added shrimp the following week. At first, every single shrimp was peeled by hand. And when we say every single shrimp, we mean hundreds of pounds at a time. Peeling shrimp quickly turned into full-on family gatherings — the kind where laughter was loud, hands were tired, and somehow the original “2 Crazy Fellas” were often mysteriously unavailable 😉
As the weeks went on, demand kept growing. A few weeks later, the guys realized this wasn’t just a temporary gig — it was something special. They decided to give the food trailer a real, long-term shot so Jamey could stay home instead of traveling for work. Stan found and bought a white food trailer the very next day so Cynthia and Tod could have Bon Wraps back. Joey and Tracy (Stan and Jamey’s in-laws) jumped in too, helping purchase equipment and supplies to get the new trailer rolling.
By October, things got even more exciting. Serious talks of opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant began. The couples behind 2 Crazy Fellas — Jamey and Megan, Stan and Tiffany — sat down and asked Joey, Tracy, Cynthia, and Tod if they wanted to join them on this crazy ride.
They all said yes.
Today, Cynthia and Tod are the friendly faces you’ll see most often in the dining room, welcoming guests like family — because that’s exactly how this all started. The rest of the crew is usually in the kitchen, working hard to keep the food coming. Some team members juggle other jobs and can’t be there every day, but everyone pitches in whenever they can.
What started as a sack of oysters, a borrowed trailer, and a whole lot of uncertainty turned into something far bigger than anyone imagined — a family business built on hard work, love, laughter, and just the right amount of crazy. 🦪❤️
